Sync prices as well as stock

Everstock can update your Shopify variant prices from a supplier feed as well as your stock levels. Price sync is off by default, and it should stay off until you have checked what the feed actually contains, because several distributor feeds carry dealer cost rather than a retail price.

Turn price sync on

Price sync is a per connection setting. In the Connect a supplier wizard it sits in the Sync scope section as the Sync price checkbox, next to Sync inventory. On a connection you already have, open it from Connections and use the Sync scope & schedule section. Edits in that section save through the Shopify admin save bar at the top of the screen, not an in-page button. The sections below it are separate forms with their own buttons, so Field mapping saves with Save mapping and Credentials saves with Save credentials.

Sync inventory is on by default and Sync price is off. Once price sync is on, that connection's row on the Connections list shows a Price badge in the Scope column.

Map Price (decimal) and Currency

Price sync only does something once the mapping carries a price. In the wizard's "Inventory endpoint & mapping" section, or in the Field mapping section on the connection page, take a mapping row, set Maps to to Price (decimal), and put the path holding the amount in Supplier field. In the wizard that mapping is stored with everything else when you use Save connection; on the connection page use Save mapping. Everstock reads the supplier's decimal amount and stores it internally in minor units.

Map Currency if the feed provides one, but know what it does. Currency is used only to format the sample amount in the wizard's mapping preview and its per-record preview. It is never sent to Shopify. Prices are written in your store's own currency using the supplier's number exactly as it stands, so a feed priced in another currency writes the wrong number rather than converting it. There is no markup or margin setting either, so whatever the feed says is what lands on the variant.

Two behaviours protect you. If Sync price is on but nothing maps to Price (decimal), no price is ever written. And a row whose price is blank or unreadable is skipped, so the existing price is left untouched. The wizard's mapping preview names which case you are in: the Status column badges the Price (decimal) row "Not a price" when the sample holds something it cannot read as a number, and "No data in sample" when the field is absent from the sample record. The connection page's mapping editor has no preview of its own, so check a mapping you changed there with Preview changes.

How price changes appear in a run

A price difference on a matched product becomes a write. In the run detail's Per-record audit, the Change column reads "Price changed" and the Action column reads "Price update". If the same record's quantity changed too, the change reads "Quantity changed" and the action reads "Inventory and price", because quantity takes precedence in the label. The Price column shows the amount before and after, and the item Status is "Planned" in a dry run or "Applied" in a real one. Note that this column currently formats amounts with a US dollar symbol whatever your store's currency, so read the numbers rather than the symbol. In the run CSV, price_from and price_to export as two-decimal major amounts.

Check whether the feed is cost or retail

This is the part that catches merchants out. Lipsey's and Sports South both map the price the dealer pays, not a retail price, so switching price sync on for either one publishes your cost as your selling price. Lipsey's also publishes a minimum advertised price per item, and your dealer agreement may require you to respect it. Each preset's setup notes say this in the Supplier section when you pick it, so read them before you save. Leave price sync off for these feeds unless you have deliberately decided otherwise and have priced accordingly.

Preview first, always

Before your first real run with price sync on, use Preview changes. It runs a dry run and opens "Preview: proposed changes", headed by the banner "Nothing has been written to Shopify". Read the Price column, which prints the before and after as plain two-decimal amounts, and use Download CSV if you want the full list. If nothing would change you will see "Everything is in sync. A real run would change nothing." Only when the proposed prices look right should you run Sync now.

One related detail: when Create missing products is on, new items are always created as drafts and never published automatically, and the supplier price is put on the new draft only if Sync price is on.
