Ask Sidekick about your supplier syncs

Results and historyUpdated 5 October 2026

Sidekick, the assistant built into your Shopify admin, can read Everstock's sync records. Ask it a question in plain words, and it answers from your syncs with a link to the right page in Everstock. It works on every plan.

Allow Everstock in the conversation

The first time you ask about your syncs in a Sidekick conversation, Sidekick asks you to approve Everstock. Approve it, then ask your question again. The approval covers that conversation only, so a new conversation asks once more. This is how Shopify handles every app that works with Sidekick.

Sidekick can only read. It cannot run a sync, approve held changes, change a setting or undo a run. For any of those, follow its link to Everstock and do it there.

What you can ask

Is a supplier sync working? For example, "Is my FlyFishEurope sync working?" or "When does my supplier sync next?" Sidekick lists each connection with its status, its schedule, when it last synced and how that sync ended, and when the next one is due.

What did a sync do? For example, "What did last night's sync change?" or "Did any supplier sync fail this week?" Sidekick lists recent syncs with how many supplier items were read, how many products were updated, how many items need review, and what went wrong when a sync failed. It looks back up to 30 days, and leaves previews out unless you ask for them.

Why did a product change? For example, "Why did the stock of SKU ABC-12 change?" or "What did Everstock change on the Sage R8 rod?" Sidekick shows each change a supplier sync made in the last 30 days: stock and price before and after, the supplier's own stock, other fields it changed, and why an item was held or skipped. An exact SKU or barcode is the fastest. A part of the product title works too.

What needs my attention? For example, "What is waiting for my approval?" Sidekick lists each connection with a sync held for your approval, and the number of items held for review with the most common reasons.

What Sidekick does not know

Sidekick only sees what Everstock did. A stock change from an order, a return, a transfer or a manual edit is not an Everstock change, so ask about it without mentioning your supplier, or look at the product's inventory history in Shopify.

Changes older than 30 days are not searched. The full record of every run is still in Sync history.

What Sidekick sees

Sidekick reads the same records you see in Sync history and on the connection pages: connection names, run results, and product titles, SKUs, barcodes, quantities and prices from your sync results. It never sees your supplier's credentials, your feed address or your supplier's full feed, and Everstock never sees your customers or orders.
