Plans, connection limits, and changing plan

Account and securityUpdated 2 September 2026

Your plan controls two things: how many supplier connections you can run, and whether Everstock can sync on a schedule. Everything else in the app works the same on every plan, including the free one.

Where to find your plan

Open Billing in the app navigation to reach the Plans and billing page. A badge at the top of that page shows where you stand: a store on a Shopify subscription sees its plan name with the subscription status, and a store that has never subscribed simply sees Free. The Plan catalog section lists all five plans with your own marked Current.

Pricing is shown on each paid plan card on that page. The Free card carries no price line, because its name already says it. Check your admin for the figures that apply to your store.

The five plans and their connection limits

There are five plans: Free, Starter, Growth, Scale, and Unlimited. They differ by how many supplier connections you can have at once. Free allows 1, Starter allows 1, Growth allows 5, Scale allows 20, and Unlimited is not capped in practice, so its card reads "Unlimited supplier connections". Because Free and Starter both allow one connection, the only thing Starter adds over Free is scheduled syncs.

What paid plans add

Scheduled syncs are the only capability a paid plan adds. Paid cards read "Scheduled syncs included" and the Free card reads "Manual, on-demand syncs only". On a paid plan the Sync frequency options are Manual, Hourly, Every 6 hours and Daily, with catch-up for missed runs. On Free the only option is "Manual only", the Enable scheduled sync checkbox is disabled, and the banner "Scheduled syncs need a paid plan" explains why.

Everything else is available on every plan, Free included: inventory sync with the safety-first diff, optional price sync, draft product creation, the optional per-field product updates, Preview changes, Sync now, run history with the per-item audit trail, and the CSV exports. The billing page states this split under its "Every plan includes" and "Paid plans add" sections.

When you reach your connection limit

At the cap, Connect a supplier is disabled and a banner headed "Connection limit reached" explains why and links to the billing page. Nothing else changes. Your existing connections, their settings and their schedules carry on exactly as before, and no data is deleted or degraded. Only adding another supplier is blocked.

No subscription, cancelled, or expired

A store with no subscription resolves to the Free plan, never to a locked app. The same applies after a cancellation or an expiry: the store keeps working on Free terms, meaning one connection and manual syncing only.

The one state that stops syncing is a frozen subscription, which is Shopify's non-payment state on a live paid contract. While a subscription is frozen, each attempted run is recorded with the status Skipped and carries the message "Plan inactive. Sync skipped." on the run detail page. Once the subscription is no longer frozen, runs go ahead as normal. If they do not, use Refresh plan status on the billing page so the app picks up the new state instead of waiting for its next scheduled check.

What a downgrade does

A downgrade stops recurring syncs and nothing else. Your connections, their settings, their stored credentials and every past run in Sync history are kept. The frequency saved on each connection is kept too, so a connection you leave untouched picks its schedule back up when you move up to a paid plan again.

One thing to know: saving a connection's settings while you are on Free rewrites that connection's schedule. Its frequency is stored as Manual and Enable scheduled sync is switched off, so after upgrading you would set the frequency and re-enable the schedule on that connection yourself.

Changing plan

Plan changes happen in Shopify, not inside Everstock. The primary action on Plans and billing is Manage plan, which opens Shopify's plan picker. When you come back, your status on the page updates on its own. If it still looks out of date, use Refresh plan status to pull the live subscription again.
